Come on now, times have changed. It’s about being with the right person, not engaged by a certain age. All due respect an word to your mother–that’s awesome if things worked out so early for her. However, your twenties are a good time to “have fun” and learn about yourself, i.e figure out the person you want to be as well as the type of person you want to be with. You’re probably most likely to find happiness if you just focus on having quality relationships with others (and yourself)–regardless of whether they’re romantic or platonic.

Close…ish. It was a play on “Old Soul” and “Old Maid” as well as a stretched version of “Soul Mate.” But the gist of my message was to focus on your own happiness (during your “maid” years) instead of rushing into matronhood and worry only about finding a “mate.” Dig?
